An Antarctic-44, Vite (French for "fast"), is a 44 foot aluminum cutter rig with modified full keel, centerboard and large skag-hung rudder. Designed by Phillippe Subrero, she has 7 ft. headroom inside and huge amounts of storage for extended cruising. Vite is remarkably dry on all points of sail with her 45" freeboard and remains upright in the most difficult seas.
A "high latitude" aluminum sailboat, she is equally at home amid ice floes or in the tropics. Vite has been newly painted (2005) with awlgrip nonskid on the topsides and with new bottom paint and fitted with new standing rigging (2005) and new sails (2005).
